Disability advocates for ADA compliance

disability-advocates-for-ada-complianceAccess Advocates, with its 19 years of experience with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is seeking to change the way building owners think and operate. It’s for the better good, as the ADA paves the way for those with disabilities to have access to public buildings. Hank Falstad, an architect by trade, founded Access Advocates with the sole purpose of changing our landscape “One building at a time.”

But we can’t do it alone. We need people with disabilities to make us aware of buildings that are not compliant with the ADA.

Access to buildings is a civil right. This gives people, ordinary everyday people, access to the Federal Courts, if necessary, to enforce the guidelines of the ADA. Mr. Falstad has found, through his years of research, that most building owners don’t want to spend the money it takes to become compliant. This is unfortunate, as it affects many people every day. In fact, in 2009, about 90% of the buildings in America were non-compliant.

So, we are seeking people to make us aware of buildings that are not up to ADA standards. We are not looking for employee vs. employer building compliance issues or employment discrimination. We are about changing the landscape for people with disabilities, one building at a time. Contact us now and share you ADA building concerns!
